Democratization of Programming
December 30, 2021
The low-code movement has attracted an even higher level of attention as a result of the pandemic, during which organizations from hospitals to government entities and corporations have had to develop online offerings at a faster pace than ever expected and for new use cases.
This movement is part of an increasing democratization of programming -- borne of extreme necessity. At a time when digital transformation is everywhere, "relying on IT departments and professional programmers is unsustainable," an O'Reilly report states. "We need to enable people who aren't programmers to develop the software they need. We need to enable people to solve their own computational problems."

Firefighters use Airtable as real-time COVID Tracker
October 29, 2021
Firefighters in Washington state used Airtable to track COVID cases since the early stages of the pandemic.
“Firefighters don’t have time for you to write a bunch of code,”
For Kramer, the Airtable system was a godsend during an anxious period. Pulling data went from hours to just 15 minutes.
“We’d closed our office, I was working from home. It took a lot of stress off,” she says. “It was easy for the members to use, easy for me on the back end, and you could see real-time data at any time. It was huge.”
The system worked so well that it turned heads in other states.

Airtable CEO Howie Liu makes it to Fortune's 40 Under 40 list for 2021
September 8, 2021
It's no surprise that a no-code founder and CEO made it to Fortune's 40 Under 40 list for 2021, and I think it's safe to say that more and more no-code presence in top tech lists is to be expected in the next coming years. No-code has indeed proven its strength, flexibility and wickedly fast turnaround time and time again, and 2020 has only helped many organizations get to this realization.
Airtable’s cloud-based, spreadsheet-meets-database platform is hugely popular with enterprise customers, including Fortune 500 heavyweights like Amazon, IBM, Nike, and Netflix. As the pandemic has heightened the need for cloud-based collaboration, Airtable has only grown its reach; more than 250,000 organizations now use its services, and the startup’s most recent funding round in March valued it at nearly $5.8 billion.
